Get a free ice cream scoop today at McConnell’s in Grand Central Market

It’s hot downtown. Luckily, there’s no dearth of new ice cream shops in the neighborhood. And at McConnell’s Fine Ice Creams, the Santa Barbara company that just opened shop in downtown Los Angeles’ Grand Central Market, customers get a free scoop of ice cream today from 6 to 9 p.m.

Some recent flavors at the creamery, which is located near the Sticky Rice and Wexler’s Deli stalls at the updated open-air marketplace, include churros con leche, Santa Barbara strawberry, milk chocolate with raspberry jam, summer fruit cobbler, salted caramel chip and Eureka lemon with marionberries.

Grand Central Market recently announced extended evening hours. Thursdays to Saturdays many vendors are open until 9 p.m.
