Superstar rapper Jay-Z and British pop band Coldplay continue to pledge their mutual appreciation for one another. While a sort of “Watch the Mylo Xyloto” mash-up collaboration remains simply a dream among fans, Jay-Z and Coldplay will ring in the new year at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center.

It’s simply the latest high profile concert to get booked at the new arena. After many rumors, it’s now confirmed that the Rolling Stones will also perform at the Barclays Center. The band, celebrating its 50th anniversary, has set a Dec. 8 date at the home of the Brooklyn Nets.

Previously, the Stones had announced four shows as part of its anniversary. The small run of gigs starts Nov. 25 and 29 at London’s O2 Arena, followed by gigs Dec. 13 and 15 at the Prudential Center in Newark, N.J. The dates will be the band’s first shows as a complete act -- with Keith Richards, Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts and Ronnie Wood -- in five years.

No L.A. date has been announced, but the band has hinted there’s more to come. “It’s not going to be a long tour, the first bit,” Jagger told the British press when revealing the first four dates. Tickets will range from $99.50 to $754.50.

The Barclays Center, in which Jay-Z has a small financial stake, opened with a string of concerts by the hip-hop mogul. He’ll return Dec. 31 with his pals Coldplay in a joint headlining gig. Tickets for the New Year’s Eve show will range from $49.50 to $499.50.

Want your Coldplay with less Jay-Z? The band will headline the Barclays Center on Dec. 30 and play Uncasville, Conn., on Dec. 29. Coldplay is not expected to announce any additional U.S. shows at this time.
