Vintage, modern and more on display at new deKor showroom in Atwater Village

“I wanted the showroom to feel like a home,” says designer Isabelle Dahlin of her new deKor showroom in Atwater Village. And indeed, there is something intimate about the new design outpost — the pink geranium wallpaper, the country windows, the reclaimed wood swing, the vintage fireplace facade — that reflects her Swedish roots.

Following stints on Sunset Boulevard in Echo Park and Santa Monica Boulevard in Silver Lake (she also has a lifestyle store, deKor&Co., in Ojai), Dahlin wanted to create a showroom that was “a little lighter” than her previous endeavors.

So she tore out the ceiling and painted the walls and rafters white, a move that allows her colorful textiles, Moroccan rugs and vintage European farm hutches to shine.

Open only just two weeks, the space features handmade ceramics, baskets, colorful Turkish kilims, grain sacks by the yard, and jewelry and bags by Lili T California. Dahlin also sells her own furniture designs alongside Kipp Stewart armchairs and dainty textiles and Moheda clogs from Sweden. Price points span $45 to $3,000.

“I always try to have a piece for everyone,” says Dahlin. “I want everyone to be able to come in and buy something.”
