2 girls wounded in drive-by shooting in South Los Angeles
Two teen girls were shot and wounded Tuesday evening while walking in a South Los Angeles neighborhood, police said.
The girls, 15 and 16, were walking in the 8300 block of Main Street at about 8:45 p.m. when a car drove by and fired several shots, Los Angeles Police Officer Liliana Preciado said.
The girls were struck by gunfire and taken to an area hospital, she said. They were in stable condition Wednesday and receiving treatment for gunshot wounds.
It’s unclear what led to the gunfire or whether the girls were the intended target, Preciado said.
No suspects were taken into custody, and police did not release a description of the suspects.
The suspects were driving a red sedan, Preciado said.
