Bruce Willis decides his Beverly Hills mansion is expendable

Bruce Willis has sold his walled and gated mansion in Beverly Hills for $16.5 million.

The Spanish-style house, built in 1928, has an arched porte-cochere, a swimming pool surrounded by a wide wooden deck and a tennis court on close to an acre of landscaped grounds. An inner courtyard features a fountain.

There are beamed ceilings, glass doors, a screening room, several fireplaces, 11 bedrooms and 11 bathrooms in 10,379 square feet of living space.

Willis, 59, is known for the “Die Hard” film series and the late-1980s series “Moonlighting.” His movie credits include starring roles in “Pulp Fiction” (1994), “The Sixth Sense” (1999) and “The Expendables” films. Last year Willis was in “Red 2,” “G.I. Joe: Retaliation” and “A Good Day to Die Hard.”

He bought the property a decade ago for $9 million.

$1.5-million rooms at the beach

Actress Amy Smart and Carter Oosterhouse, who has hosted home-related shows including “Million Dollar Rooms,” have put their place in Hermosa Beach on the market at $1.5 million.

The free-standing town house sits on a corner two blocks from the beach with ocean views. Built in 1976, the town house features an upgraded kitchen with quartz counters and stainless steel appliances. There are vaulted ceilings, three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 1,617 square feet of living space.

Smart, 38, has been on a variety of television shows such as “Felicity” (1999-2001), “Smith” (2006-07) and, this year, “Justified.” Her movie work includes two “Crank” films (2006, 2009), “The Butterfly Effect” (2004) and “Road Trip” (2000).

Oosterhouse, 37, parlayed his carpentry skills into a spot on “Trading Spaces” from 2004 to 2007.

They were married in 2011.

He bought the property in 2005 for $1 million, public records show. Two years ago it was leased out for $4,900 a month.

Prolific novelist Danielle Steel has put her oceanfront compound in Stinson Beach, near San Francisco, up for sale at $8.995 million.

The Cape Cod-inspired beach house and guesthouse sit on two-thirds of an acre along the beach and sand dunes. Behind the gated driveway, whimsical metallic sculptures dot the yard of the home, which has front and rear decks and a hot tub.

A three-sided solarium dining room has views of the ocean. There are skylights, radiant heat floors, open-beam ceilings, two fireplaces, four bedrooms and four bathrooms in 3,424 square feet of living space.

Artwork, sculptures, furniture and bikes are included with the ready-to-go retreat, which was built in 2000.

Steel, 67, often produces several books a year and has sold more than 600 million copies of her novels worldwide, according to her official website. Her titles this year include “Power Play” and “A Perfect Life.”

Attention, out-of-towners

A Malibu beach house that actress-model Felicia Farr shared with her late husband, actor Jack Lemmon, is up for lease at $12,500 a month.

The beach retreat, with ocean and sunset views, has dining, family and living rooms, a solarium, three bedrooms and three bathrooms in 2,560 square feet of living space. There’s a detached guesthouse above the garage, a rooftop deck and a courtyard.

A lagoon-style swimming pool lined with boulders sits next to the lawn.

Built in 1989, the two-story red-brick-clad home has ornate wrought-iron balcony railings, arched windows and white shutters. Thick beams, vaulted ceilings and a spiraling wooden staircase are among interior features.

Lemmon, who died in 2001 at 76, starred in scores of films including the classic “Some Like It Hot” (1959), “The Odd Couple” films, “The Out-of-Towners” (1970) and “Grumpy Old Men” (1993). He won Academy Awards for his work in “Save the Tiger” (1973) and “Mister Roberts” (1955).

Time to chasse out of Idaho

Adam Shankman, the affable judge from “So You Think You Can Dance,” is hoping to engage a home buyer in a little do-si-do. The choreographer has listed his family retreat in Priest River, Idaho, for sale at $737,000.

The mountain and water view property is near Sandpoint in the northern part of the state known as the Idaho Panhandle.

The gated hideaway encompasses 3.32 acres on the Pend Oreille River with a sandy swimming beach and a large dock with room for a ski boat and kayaks.

Wooden decks wrap around the rustic-style timber-frame house, which has a stone fireplace, balconies, three bedrooms, a den/office, three bathrooms and a detached hot tub deck.

In addition to the two-story house, which was built in the 1990s and remodeled in 2006, there is a separate workshop/barn and a covered area for maintenance equipment such as a truck, a tractor and lawn mowers.

The grounds include mature aspen, pine and maple trees. Skiing, hiking and mountain biking trails are nearby.

Shankman, 49, also has appeared as a dancer in music videos for Paula Abdul and Janet Jackson, and has produced films including “Hairspray” (2007) and “Rock of Ages” (2012).

He bought the property in 2002 as a place to share with his family. They have spent birthdays, holidays and vacations there. He is selling because the retreat sits unused much of the year due to his work schedule.
