$93,000-plus raised for mauled 3-year-old allegedly kicked out of KFC

More than $93,000 has been raised for a young girl after her family said she was kicked out of a KFC in Mississippi last week because of facial injuries she received in a pit bull attack.

The family said the money would help pay the mounting medical bills of 3-year-old Victoria Wilcher, who was nearly killed when she was mauled by three pit bulls in April. The girl lost her right eye and the ability to move the right side of her face.

The family said the KFC restaurant in Jackson asked Thursday that Victoria leave because she was making other customers uncomfortable. The fast-food chain said it would investigate the allegation, apologized to the girl and donated $30,000 toward her medical bills.

A Facebook page created for Victoria has more than 108,000 likes.

A GoFundMe account had raised more than $93,000 as of Monday afternoon, and many people left comments there wishing Victoria well. Victoria’s family said she remained an optimistic and joyful child.
