Pretty soon the Dodgers will have as many price tiers for parking as they have for tickets.

Now, in addition to the regular $15 parking fee at the gate, the $10 parking if purchased in advance and the $35 preferred parking, the Dodgers are offering a pair of $5 lots – outside the ballpark.

Two lots across from each other on Stadium Way next to the Los Angeles Fire Department facility will offer $5 parking on a trial basis during the upcoming homestand against the San Francisco Giants (Thursday-Sunday) and Miami Marlins (May 12-14).

The Dodgers say it’s about a 15-minute walk from the lots below the Elysian Park gate, and it’s all uphill. The club said it will offer a free shuttle for disabled fans.

The parking can be purchased in advance or at the gate on a first-come, first-served basis.

Dodgers President and CEO Stan Kasten said in a news release: “We have added this parking availability to provide our fans with another savings option that offers easy in and out access and is a 10-to-15 minute walk to the stadium. By parking in lots 13 and 14, fans can avoid some of the traffic entering and exiting the stadium lots before and after games.

“We continue to experiment with ways to improve access to Dodger Stadium. The more drivers that park in lots 13 and 14, the fewer the cars that will enter the Dodger Stadium lots through the auto gates and it will help in our ongoing efforts to ease traffic congestion.”
