Miley Cyrus to Matt Lauer: People over 40 ‘don’t have sex anymore’

Miley Cyrus has a message for Matt Lauer: Your sex life is so over.

The 20-year-old “Wrecking Ball” songstress appeared on Monday’s “Today” on NBC, where cohost Lauer plunged in to the controversy over Cyrus’ recent twerking on the MTV Video Music Awards and risque photos and videos used to promote her new album.

Lauer asked whether this sexy new side to the former “Hannah Montana” teen queen is just a phase.

“I heard when you turn 40 things start to go a little less sexual,” Cyrus said, kicking her legs back and forth as she sat on a tall stool. “So probably around 40, around that time, I heard that’s when people don’t have sex anymore.”

This seemed to catch Lauer off guard and he asked whether Cyrus knew how old he was. She guessed 40, although whether she was serious -- about that guess and anything else in the interview -- is debatable.

Lauer, smiling, reported that he is 55.

But Cyrus was in no mood to be gracious. “Well, then you’re really, definitely not sexual,” she averred.

If teenagers’ parents didn’t already hate Cyrus, they probably do now. Which may have been the whole point of her responses.

What do you make of Cyrus’ latest outrage? Is she following the pop-star blueprint perfectly, or is she twerking too hard?
