Bahamas: Celtic Thunder leads the pack on Irish music cruise

Share

Thunderheads, be prepared to set sail this fall. Irish band Celtic Thunder plus a slew of other Irish music performers will headline a four-night cruise aboard the MSC Divina from Miami to the Bahamas.

Those who want to immerse themselves in the floating song fest -- from Irish standards to musical theater to a little pop rock -- will be entertained by the band’s Keith Harkin, George Donaldson, Ryan Kelly, Neil Byrne and Colm Keegan.

The cruise ship leaves Miami and stops at Nassau and the private island of Thunder Bay. Fans receive assigned seating (based on order of sign-up) in the ship’s 1,600-seat Pantheon Theater for a Celtic Thunder musical review of best-of songs and a holiday show. Band members also will be performing solo during the cruise.

Other performances include rockers Young Dubliners, the Killdares and female vocalist Chloe Agnew as well as jazz bands, dueling pianos and traditional bands playing Irish music. And there will be dancing with choreographer Belinda Murphy’s Gaelic Rhythm Dance Show.

When: The cruise sails Nov. 8-12.

Price: Staterooms start at $999, based on double occupancy and are as low as $699 each for four people in an interior stateroom. Children 11 and younger sail free when sharing a cabin with two adults. Price includes on-board cabins, meals and entertainment. Airfare to and from Miami is extra.
