Seems like I can’t get enough questions about telemarketing. I’m figuring that telemarketers are basically ignoring the Do Not Call list, based on all the email I get from cheesed-off phone customers.

Roselind’s beef is knowing who to report to authorities. Increasingly, she says, telemarketers are masking their true phone numbers or misleading people with bogus numbers.

What can you do?

This is called “spoofing,” and it’s a growing problem. Telemarketers are using technology that allows them to either hide their number from caller ID systems or make it seem like they’re someone else.
