Ex-wrestler Bret ‘Hit Man’ Hart parts with his oasis on the Big Island

Retired professional wrestler Bret “Hit Man” Hart has pinned down a sale on Hawaii’s Big Island, selling his retreat in Kailua-Kona for $705,000.

Hart, who rose to fame in the World Wrestling Federation in the 1980s and ‘90s, bought the house in 2004 for $675,000, public records show.

Built into a hillside in the Kuakini Heights area, the tropical post-and-beam design features natural dark-wood paneling, vaulted ceilings and skylight-topped living areas. Custom wooden doors slide to reveal expansive ocean views that invite indoor-outdoor entertaining.

Within the 2,064 square feet of living space is a great room with a wet bar, a center-island kitchen, an office, three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master suite sports a large soaking tub.

Tropical landscaping, tall palms and an expanse of grass make up the grounds.

The house came on the market in May for $725,000, according to the Multiple Listing Service.

Steven Ellison of Clark Realty Corp. was the listing agent. Laure McElwee of First Island Realty represented the buyer.

The Canadian wrestler, 58, was among the biggest draws in wrestling in the 1990s and was the World Heavyweight Champion five times. He was elected to the WWE Hall of Fame in 2006.
