Sometimes you just want to feel fancy. And one of the easiest ways to do this is with a posh cocktail in your hand. The kind you sip and pretend you’re reclining on a plush chaise lounge in your drawing room, when you’re really in your studio apartment, on your bed that doubles as a couch.

Well, the Turf Club is the fancy cocktail you’ve been looking for. It’s actually a classic gin drink from the 19th century, and at Redbird in downtown L.A., beverage director Tobin Shea is making a great one.

In this week’s Jenn and Tonic video, Shea shows us how to make the drink, which includes absinthe, gin, Luxardo, dry vermouth and orange bitters. You can find the recipe in the video above and in the text below. Now go make one! It’s cocktail time somewhere.
