First look at the ‘Harry Potter’ prequel ‘Fantastic Beasts’ channels that old magic

Hungry for wands, stuffy spell books and elaborate magical alleys with complicated villain back stories? Never fear, the Harry Potter universe has returned with the new prequel film "Fantastic Beasts."

Entertainment Weekly has debuted a collection of stills for the "Harry Potter" prequel, "Fantastic Beasts." Eddie Redmayne stars as the "magizoologist" Newt Scamander, from the J.K. Rowling book "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them."

The magazine has premiered a collection of images from the film, which is set in 1926 New York. Newt works with the Magical Congress of the United States of America, the stateside version of the Ministry of Magic. But as for the actual plot, that's anyone's guess. "Fantastic Beasts" was more of a collection of actual beasts than a character-driven story. But what we do know is that it will showcase the wizardry in America during the Roaring '20s.
